Retail does indeed suck.
I’m a college grad who is underemployed. While some people have no job, I have a menial retail job that I’m really overqualified for. There are a number of people out there like me. It’s hard when you know that after two months, you can do the manager’s job better than he can, and he’s been there for three years.
The buyers purchase the orders that fill our shelves. Lately, nobody wants to buy anything, because we’re in a recession. Yet, 300 dollar North Face jackets keep coming off the truck? Where the fuck am I supposed to put all of these puffy sleeping bag jackets? Why do we have so many god damned water bottles? Who the hell is going to buy a frisbee in the dead of winter in Massachusetts?
